The Government of Canada, in partnership with Special Olympics Canada, hosted approximately 135 Canadian athletes, coaches and mission personnel in Ottawa on Wednesday, November 29th to celebrate their achievements at the 2017 Special Olympics World Winter Games in Austria.
The celebration began with community events with local students in the morning and concluded with an official visit to Parliament Hill where they were honoured by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Minister of Sports & Persons with Disabilities Kent Hehr for their accomplishments and performances at the 2017 Special Olympics World Winter Games!
We were very proud to have John Scullion, Chairman of the Special Olympics Canada Foundation onsite in Ottawa to join the celebrations. What an incredible display of support from the Government of Canada!
